Is it true, perfume stored in clear bottles will go off quicker than those stored in coloured glass?

A friend told me to leave my perfume bottles in the box it came in, to prolong its lifespan. So why do perfume makers bother with lovely bottles if, it's pointless to leave them out on display..Is it true, perfume stored in clear bottles will go off quicker than those stored in coloured glass?
the perfumes and the essential oils are highly prone to oxidation as they decompose due to oxidation from any kind of energy source available to them so better take precaution and keep bottles of perfumes away from lightIs it true, perfume stored in clear bottles will go off quicker than those stored in coloured glass?
Some decomposition may take place under light, however it's too small that can be neglected.

Yes it is true, I suppose the more appealing the bottle is the better it sells, also there a big collecters item.
