What's the best way to store perfume?

I've had many unlucky experiences with storing my perfumes, it's said that the longer u store them the more profound and more stable their essence is, however what i encountered is that they became yellow and of bad odour after 2 yrs of very limited usageWhat's the best way to store perfume?
Keep your perfume in a cool, dark place, and like one of the previous answerers said, out of direct sunlight. Keeping it in the original box you bought it in helps alot too, unless you want to showcase your bottles.

A great place to find more information is here:

Keep your perfume out of direct sunlight and don't keep it to close to windows. Also the amount of time you have your perfume can have a huge effect on what it can look and smell like. Update your perfume every 12-18 months or so.
